We assist First Nations with governance and management structures that oversee a community from day-to-day business through to planning for long-term prosperity.

We have experience in drafting by-laws, policies and procedures. And we do so in a collaborative manner that recognizes the unique circumstances and history of each First Nation, and meets the needs of a particular community.

Having a thorough understanding of the importance that First Nation governments place on separating business from politics, we are able to advise on economic development frameworks, custom elections codes, and independent decision-making and dispute resolution structures.

When disputes arise, we provide alternative dispute resolution strategies, such as arbitration and mediation along with litigation when necessary. We have acted on behalf of First Nations in governance-related disputes ranging from employment and human rights complaints to natural resource matters and forensic investigations.
