Human Rights
At Pink Larkin, we believe that both individuals and organizations benefit when respect and inclusivity are prioritized, and when organizations fully comply with their legislated obligations to protect and support human rights.
We regularly represent individuals who have encountered or are currently facing discrimination. Leveraging our extensive understanding of relevant legislation and case law, combined with our experience representing clients in human rights tribunals, we provide strategic legal advocacy in cases involving discrimination, harassment, and accommodation both within and outside the workplace.
We also assist organizations in creating policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment, and in navigating through any human rights issues that may arise. To that end, we offer training sessions to educate employers and managers on preventing and addressing human rights violations. We also conduct thorough investigations into discrimination and harassment complaints within workplaces, offering comprehensive assessments and strategic guidance to enhance internal reporting mechanisms and procedures for addressing human rights.
At Pink Larkin, we are deeply committed to fostering positive change in our workplaces and communities. As part of this commitment, we take pride in our innovative pro bono practice, which offers strategic zero-cost litigation services aimed at effecting systemic legal reforms to better protect the human rights of individuals living in poverty in Nova Scotia.
